Goodwood Festival of Speed July 11-13, 2003
|

Don,
Just wanted to say thanks for lending us the DB4 for Goodwood. It's now
safely tucked up under its cover back in your garage. For people watching on
our stand, it was obvious the Aston was a big hit. We shared it stand with
CAR Magazine and had four cars: your Aston, a 360 Modena which will be
in next month's Future Classics, a Pagani Zonda and a Maserati Spider.
The Aston and Pagani appeared to be the favourites.
I enjoyed a great drive down on the Thursday, and even more so the sunset
drive back on Sunday. The soft light playing across the bonnet, the glow of
the instruments and the sound of the exhaust bouncing off buildings and
trees was a motoring fantasy. So was the performance. Can't remember the
last time I dorve a car that attracted so much positive attention from other
drivers, people in petrol stations, etc. Also I can't remember the last time I
drove any classic car that kept its cool in stop-start traffic in town.
I will send you pictures of the car on the stand as soon as we have them
processed.
Thanks again.
Regards,
Phil Bell
